The Most Important Question You Can Ask Yourself

When you wake up, do you direct your attention to yesterday, your to-do list, or on a current struggle? Did you know that if you are not focusing on the right things, your day will consume you instead of taking control of how it goes? Asking yourself the right question can help you better manage the creation of your day. One powerful question can lead you towards setting the tone and mood for how you want your day to go. Before you do anything, ask yourself this question and allow the answer to guide you forward. No matter what comes your way, you will thrive with the response. So, what is this powerful question?

“Since I am starting a new day, how do I choose to feel moving forward?”

When your reality takes up more space in your mind than your possibilities, you will need this question to move towards a better mindset. When you allow what you are experiencing to override how you want to feel, you believe that things will never change, and you are stuck where you are. As humans, we have been taught to focus more on our five senses OVER how we want to feel.

Ever had a day unfold perfectly, then you hear or see one thing, and that ruins the entire day? If just one thing you see with your eyes is wrong, that translates as everything you are experiencing is wrong. This is typically not the case; something is always working out somewhere. We continually rely on what we see, hear, taste, touch and feel to distract us from how we want to feel. Remember, what you are sensing at the moment is not your entire life.

If you train yourself to focus daily on how you want to feel or focus on emotions like gratitude, joy, freedom, peace, etc., you will find no need to motivate yourself anymore. All you need to get a workout done, or the to-do list complete, is to remember how it feels when you accomplish it.

Remember, a belief is a thought you continue to think and can be changed. Good feelings always remain the same.
