Key Life Lessons (Part 1)

Key Life Lessons (Part 1)

Everyone wants to thrive and live their best lives. However, it is not easy to survive in today’s challenging times with so many external inputs. As a parent, I constantly think about what I wish I was taught as a child or what I want to share with my kids to prepare them for their future. Whether you are a parent or an adult wanting to make adjustments or improvements, over the next few weeks, I am sharing life lessons I regularly discuss with my teenagers.

No matter how we try to protect our children, we need to prepare them to effectively deal with the struggles, failures, and conflicts that life may throw at them. Besides providing love, care, and their basic needs, I believe our primary goal as parents is to guide our children to maneuver through life successfully.

Here are some life lessons and reminders that can hopefully make a difference.

You are a powerful creator.

You were born with the ability to create the life you want. Your choices and how you respond are where your control lies. When you become more aware of how you respond to experiences, you can shift your instinctual survival mode toward a healthier, thriving method. When you take control of your choices, you empower the creator within yourself. Your choices create your happiness and well-being.

You can do anything and be anything; you set your limits.

Limits are beliefs you have around what you can create. Self-imposed limitations are taught. They are shaped by your life experiences, and they can be changed at any time. You decide where your top lies. What you go through is always teaching you how to break through any ceilings you may have created for yourself. Your dreams will materialize faster when you release the limits or conditions you have around your possibilities. To thrive, you must be aware of your limits and focus instead on your abilities.

You are already enough.

You are born worthy of all the things you can perceive possible for yourself. You don’t have to strive to become more worthy, more valid, more acceptable, or more lovable. You are already all of those things. No one but you can determine your value or your boundaries. Always believe that who you are and where you are is enough.

You were born with everything you need to create the life you want.

At every moment, you have everything you need to go where you want to go. You just have to slow down enough to change focus from the problem to the solution. Answers and the way forward are constantly showing up for you. You are very capable and always have what you need to succeed. Believe in who you are, what you know, and what you can create.

Until next week, we will share more life lessons.
